THE GRIDLOCKSMITH

THE GRIDLOCKSMITH, traffic safety activist, "Roads Scholar," former "Road Warrior" who lost a brother (aged,15) on the road in 1969, has compiled many observations and ideas about traffic safety after 3 decades of driving for a living. "Are you part of the problem, or part of the solution? Set a safe example in traffic." You, too, can be a gridlocksmith. "Road-Peace is a step toward World Peace." - Earl Shoop

Looking for what's logical, efficient, kind and fun... Traffic safety became a personal issue when my youngest brother died on the highway. I observed traffic unsafety while driving for a living(30yrs). Spread the word about "Road-Peace" as a step on the road to World Peace. Since those wise and gentle enough to create World Peace will not treat each other as we now do, in traffic, the road is a good place to focus our efforts. see www.road-peace.com www.gridlocksmith.com

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAUL, AND FATHER'S DAY, TOO!

When I'm Sixty-Four
Lennon/McCartney

When I get older losing my hair
many years from now
will you still be sending me a valentine
birthday greeting, bottle of wine
If I'd been out till quarter to three
would you lock the door
Will you still need me
Will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four
... and, et cetera

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAUL!
and happy FATHER'S DAY to all the daddies.
Forgive my presumptousness in ripping off the Beatle standard, Hey, Jude...
(I have been threatening to exhibit my propensity for word wrangling and tortured phrases, and here is another sample... sorry.)

"HEY, DUDE!"
(a tribute with apologies)

Hey, dude, don't make it bad
Be real careful when you are driving
Remember, be kind to other drivers
Then you will start to make it better

Hey, dude, do not be rude
You were made to be kind to others
The minute you let somebody else in
Then you begin to make it better

And any time you feel the rage, hey, dude, refrain
Don't push the others onto the shoulders
Well don't you know that it's a fool who is not cool
Reducing his chance of getting older

Na, Na, Na, Na, Na,
Na, Na, Na, Na

Hey, dude! Don't let us down
Prevent gridlock at intersections
Don't enter unless there's room to get out
Then you will start to make it better

So let's all act like we are friends, hey, dude, begin
To set the example of kind driving
And don't you know that it's so true
You'll see, the movement you start will make driving fun

Na, Na, Na, Na, Na,
Na, Na, Na, Na, yeah

Hey, dude, it won't be bad
When people see, and make it better
Remember to let us see that your heart
Wants us to start to make it better

Better, better, better, better, better, oh
Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na,
Na, Na,Na, Na, hey dude
Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na,
Na, Na,Na, Na, hey dude
Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na,
Na, Na,Na, Na, hey dude

Did you see the "DANGER" Acrostic Challenge? It is at this previous post.

Have you ever seen a guy by the road holding a cardboard sign,
"Will traffic safety advocate for food?" Puleeze, don't make me do this.
Hmmm... Perhaps, he could be selling bumperstickers for GRIDLOCKSMITH.COM?
Another b'sticker idea...
"Blessed are they who have patience,
For they may not become patients"

I am a big fan of The Darwin Awards, partly because they make me laugh,
and partly because it teaches me about things I should never do.
Here is the first post of this humble blog.
